Backend Engineer — Integrations & AI Tooling
About the Role
Build and maintain the integrations and tooling layer that connects Amiara’s AI agents to external platforms, APIs, and open-source tools. You’ll be the engineer who spots a new MCP server, open-source framework, or API release and has it integrated into our system by end of week.
This role is for someone who lives at the edge of what’s being released in the AI and developer ecosystem. You’ll work across our Node.js backend to build reliable, production-grade connectors that expand what our agents can do — and you’ll ship them fast using AI-assisted development workflows.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain API integrations that extend Amiara’s agent capabilities
- Evaluate and integrate emerging open-source AI tools, frameworks, and libraries
- Design reliable, scalable backend services in Node.js and TypeScript
- Collaborate with the AI team to define tool interfaces agents can invoke
- Ship production-quality code at high velocity using AI-assisted development tools
What We're Looking For
- Strong backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and ship integrations with third-party APIs and platforms
- Genuine enthusiasm for the open-source AI ecosystem — you follow releases and try things early
- Experience building products with real commercial users, not just side projects
- AI-native workflow — you use tools like Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor as part of how you work
